President Obama celebrating his birthday |
Zilly Rosen’s Famous Portrait Made of Sweets
We at Reena Treats also want to celebrate Zilly Rosen baker/artist on her beautiful and creative portrait, made completely out of cupcakes. Zilly Rosen made a double portrait of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama. The portrait was on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum; the portrait had a very short life span because it was made of 5,900 mini vanilla cupcakes, each with a colored, rolled fondant disc on its top. Ms. Rosen's creation blends a 2007Annie Leibowitz photograph of Obama with the famous 1865Alexander Gardner portrait of Lincoln, taken two weeks before he delivered the Gettysburg Address.
